suzuki outboards

Found a used boat for my uncle who is new to boating. Boat has a 1993 150 suzuki 2.7 liter. I am unfamiliar with them. Are they OK? He mainly wants something reliable for towing the kids tubing and skiing and isn't looking to set any speed records etc.
