1990 38' Fountain Fever
1990 38' Fever (Post #1)
This is also in the Fountain owners fourm.
I have come across a 1990 38 fever for around $45k w/ no trailer. It has stock 454 mags and bravos with 430hrs on it. Everything is original and engines and drives have never been touched. It has had some things replaced like starters, coils, etc. I know the older gentleman that bought the boat brand new and he never abused it. In the past few years the boat has only been used a few times in the summer. My question is about the hours and when should I expect to do work to the engines, drives, gimbals. The boat is in very good condition, new interior with original styling. Also what should I expect to pay to have an engine rebuilt and a drive rebuilt. I want to keep everything as turn key as possible.
Is this an opportunity I should not turn down.
Any info would be much appreciated.

Very nice package for the money.
The 454 mag was a very nice engine with good internals. A friend had a Velocity with a 454 mag from '91 I believe... That angine had 600 hours on it and was still running like new.
You're crazy if you think you're going to find more boat for the money. Pay for a good mechanical survey, or have a Merc man go through it (comp checks, etc.)
