Default O/T Direct TV question

Got Direct TV installed last week and have a question about it for those that have/or have had it. I've noticed that I have to turn my TV volume a lot louder then I did with just regular cable. I was thinking that there was a volume adjustment on the Direct TV box but I haven't found it. It's buggin the heck out of me and I can't figure it out.

depends on what unit you have but most do not have variable outputs. You will just have to deal with it, or try another sat box that may have a hotter output.

I agree, I think the box they gave you isn't good. I had a similar problem with a car stereo when I switched between FM and a CD. The CD blasted at almost twice the volume the radio would. Come to find out it had an access port on top of the radio to the circut board and you could adjust a little pot on the board. My guess is that you should try to get a new box from the manufacturer if you can.

Or... Have Audiofn look at it.

yeah and I'd also be open to any "tips" for messing around with Direct TV. I was looking online for some hacks and stuff, there has to be something.

Assuming that this will not be use illegally. I would not

1) subscribe to a forum such as dsstech.com
2) purchase a card reader/writer
3) download software from the forum
4) load software to card.

You will need an HU card not the new P4. I don't think there is a hack for the P4 yet. This is not rocket science - you just have to read and figure out how this is done.
