Hi Speed Bottom Coating- do they work?

Always looking to get free MPH's has anyone had any luck using these products such as Hyspeedcote, or Quick Craft - they claim to lower hull drag thus increasing speed & fuel efficiency. Do they work or is it a waste of money?

mine only lasted a week, at least I only noticed it for a week. I could feel a difference just from rubbing the bottom after taking it out once. It was a solid week of boating, maybe 20 hrs of actually running, the rest of the time sitting.

How would these products work in a racing application.
As long as they stayed on for the entire race.
We have been trying to find something for our tunnel boat.
1 mph for us could be the difference between 1st and 5th.
We had heard that 3M had made a product for NASA but it was not available to the general puplic, any suggestions on where to look at some of these products.
