whats the best receiver for dss out now ???
|
Bobby IMO it is the Zenith and Sony units. They are both the same.
As far as getting free DSS it is legal to grab it if you are in Canada but obviously not if you are in the US. Jon |
Samsung
I have a Samsung.
I have not seen the Sony or the Zenith, however this is how they compare. However, the Samsung works great for me. The "always on" 480i is nice for recording a show on a regular VCR. The "onscreen callerID" is also nice. All in all I feel that the features of the Samsung make it better than either the Sony or the Zenith. Just my two-cents... |

Bobby,
If you don't have an HDTV-ready television, you may want to opt for one of the cheaper non-HDTV receivers. You can get one for under $100. I wanted to get an HDTV Receiver that had a HardDrive for recording, but they are not available, yet. :( |
My DSS boxes ALL have hotter audio outputs than the tuner in my TV's. I've got 2 RCA 420's, 2 RCA 480's, and a Hughes E3 Platinum. Strange that yours is opposite.
