infant life jackets

There are no currently USCG approved life jackets for infants under 18 lbs, anybody know of, seen, have a source for one even unapproved ?

I would seriously think of leaving the baby with a sitter...The boat, especially a performance boat, is no place for an infant. Between the noise, wind, heat and, God forbid, some trouble- it is nice to know the baby is safe and sound at home. Plus it will keep you from stressing out with all the excitement and no calm environment for the baby. Choices, choices.....

Try Overtons. I got mine at a local boat dealer, but it is similar to thoseat Overtons. It was USCG approved, and didn't say anything about a minimum weight. It had a USCG rating of?????? I can't remember??? It was a little big on him the first season he wore it (5 months old and about 15-16lbs). He's just out growing it now at 35lbs. It has a max of 50lbs. It IS the infant style, not the child version.

West Marine has jackets rated at 30 lbs and under. That's where I got the one for my 3 month old.
