86' Cigarette Changing Rotation Add Speed?
My Dad had heard from a friend abouta discussion on OSO about somebody who had swapped the outdrives and had gained topspeed on an older non stepped 38 Cigarette. I did a search and could find anything. Anyone have any info or know where the thread is?

I tried it on my 86 38' Flat Deck running SSM3A drives.
I didn't do a whole lot of top end research but the boat was defenately looser at all speeds. At cruise speed (45-50) the boat was alot looser so I assume at top end, you might see a couple of mph. It depends on the whole power package but it's a simple experament. You should be able to swap the drives within an hour.

I had my drives spinning in on my non step Top Gun and docking was difficult. This spring I set them up spinning out and the docking manners improved greatly but it feels like it is dragging its butt at planing speed. I did`t notice much of a difference at top end speeds.

I was thinking of giving that a whirll I'll post the results when I come around to it. I have a Cafe however not a gun with Bravos so no stern drive switch needed just the levers!
