Aquatrons? give me some info
 

Was out the past weekend having a good time and looking and what all new competition might be on the water :) Anyways I see this 22ft boat come blasting around the corner, sounded pretty loud too....I'm guessing 454. Anyways it was an Aquatron. A friend told me that Bayliner actually makes them....I said well it looks pretty good. He said up close they look cheap and stuff. I couldn't find much on the net about them though.

I don't know much for certain about these boats except that they were made in Georgia. I believe from 1991-2001, by S & J manufacturing. I remember seeing them for sale at a boatel where I kept a boat on the upper Chesapeake. They seemed to be somewhat inexpensive when compared to more recognized names. They did make a sporty model or two along with bowriders, cuddy cabins and aft cabins, from 18-26 ft. Standard power in many of their 23 footers was 190 hp, but I seem to remember a more powerful engine available in the sport model. I have no knowledge of their build quality, but it is obvious some compromise in materials and/or build quality had to be made based on the modest price. I hope this helps a little. Maybe someone here actually owns one of these.
