Default New 36' Spectre Wide load Permit?? !!

I'm having a 36' Spectre built with the arneson package to be finished in July. The boat is 10'2", the legal limit for width in North Carolina is around 8'9". The permit is only $100 but the fine without one is $500. Plus wide load banners etc. on the truck. Also traveling thru other states causes more permits. What is everone else doing with these boats?

Race Teams hire a service to obtain Oversize permits in the States that required them in advance....Contact Advantage Permits (800 information)& or similiar service. Be Prepared to furnish a Cert. of Insurance from your Insurance Carrier as proof....Most pleasure boaters shoot crap, and lose....Without a wide load permit it could cost you thousands in fines and aggravation....Good Luck

Hawk, thanks for the name of the company. I figured if I get caught it could be a big fine. Here in NC they are really starting to crack down on overwieight/ width vehicles.

Mkae sure you have your tows vehicle plated correctly, also if you are running dual wheels on the trailer it pputs you in a different liscense category along with the type of brakes you have. Also try to check into the laws of other states you may be travelling in. as each state has it's own variation on the laws regarding transport. Good luck and I wish I was having this problem.

How many people just roll down the road with these cats with no permits at all? And do they get popped for it?

I'm not sure about the dusk - dawn you may be correct. My Spectre will have arneson asd-6 drives and 572 cu. 765 Hp engines turing 6400 rpms. naturally aspirated motors.
