First Run with the new Motors
Saturday, took the boat out with the new power for first time. Kurt from Kurt's Marine did a great job. Everything worked perfectly. We had 175 Gallons of 103 Octane fuel and 4 -200 lb guys on board and it jumped up on plane (at 2000 RPMS). Fisrt pass on the GPS was 130MPH at 5000 RPM's. It was very clear that we were going to run out of prop. Set up was this:Number VI drives with 1:25 gears, 4 Blade 16.5 inch 34 pitch at 5000 RPMS and it never went past 7lbs of boost or opened the secondaries.. If I can find a set I'd like to try 5 Blade 16.5 inch 35 pitch. I don't know how fast it will be and I probably don't want to find out but it was a major RUSH. Otto

I was so excited that I left the camera in the truck, but this weekend I'll take some of the the boat and motors along with the top speed on the GPS. Otto

Uncle how are you. The boat turned out great. I would never hesitate in sending anyone to Kurt's Marine> Not only does the boat run great but the rigging on the motors is breath taking.Otto

Ron, Kurt and I were so amazed that we ran it two more times just to look at the GPS and the Tach, and sure enough , 5000 RPMS at 130 MPH the whole length of the bay south of the Seaside bridge on Saturday. Ron you really need to go for a ride to feel the exceleration on this thing. From 80 MPH to 130 MPH it just pins you to the seat. It accually feel like it's going to get away from you. The entire time it's just rock steady and never really does anything wrong. Otto
