where's the gelcoat?

Sorry. Gelcoat gets wprayed onto the tool prior to laying-up material for the finished product. Gelcoat is optional and some manufacturers forego this step. Gelcoat is actually kind of rare outside of boating and small aircraft.

Baja Daze, Just a correction. The Tool is framed before removing from the plug. Otherwise you can end up with warpage:eek:

These types of CNC or gentry mills this large. Does anyone know where the closest one to Houston Texas is? And maybe does anyone know where any mill big enough for a 33' boat is?

I dont think the guy's using cnc machines are building wooding plugs ! they are designing boats from knowledge and not trial and error.
