Old boat: 1984 Excalibur gets pulled by:
Old Truck: 1989 GMC Crew Cab 7.4 TBI and a Turbo 400 trans with a 4.10 rear and no overdrive. 8.0 MPG with the boat, 8.5 MPG without (hardly gets driven without towing something) Less than 100K miles and never driven in snow. And: NO PAYMENTS |

97 F250 P/S 4WD 355 rear end = excellent mpg- 22 w/o boat, 17.5 w/boat.
Tows my 27' Formula w/steel trailer great! 27' (approx 8k lbs) is probably max with this gear ratio. Anything bigger and would probably want a lower gear. Although I did pull a friends 29 Fountain with no problems. |

2002 Dodge Durango SLT 4.7L 2WD with tow package and 3.73's pulling 2001 Powerquest 260 SX-Guessing that boat and trailer with fuel and cold ones 6500 lbs. Truck pulls awesome. Used my buddies brand new Z71 Tahoe and almost chit my pants at anything over 65mph.
