McLeod Design Group "Simply AWESOME"

Guys, I just want to share with you the great experience I have had with McLeod Design Group that does the Bolster Seats.

These are really fine people that have just given me the best customer service I have seen in the marine industry.

Just to fill you in, the electric bolster at the helm of my 2002 Baja 36 Outlaw came loose. The stainless support on the rear came loose allowing the entire seat to move up and down. I noticed this on a coastal trip to Charleston and by the time I got back the seat was very loose and it had put the motor/actuator in a bind that caused the leading edge of the screw to strip. So when the seat was put in the full down position it would not come back up unless you gave it a push.

Since the boat had like one week left on the factory warranty and I really did not want to go to the dealer or Baja, I decided to contact McLeod direct from their website. I e-mailed three people off of the site explaning the problem and promptly received three e-mails back assuring me they would handle the issue for me.

They quickly issued an RGA for me to return the back motor and promised a replacement out within 72 hours of receipt of the bad one. They also called me to apologize for the problem I had with their product and to advise what they thought the cause was and how to correct it so it would not happen again.

Because of a club boat trip it took me over a week to get the motor off and return it. I ask if there was any way I could have the replacement before July 4th and they called me just a few minutes ago to advise that the new one was shipping out UPS air today, that they did not have any extra's, but pulled one from production so I could enjoy boating over the 4th!

WOW, it does not get any better than that. These have been some of the nicest people I have ever dealt with. They take real pride in their product and their customers.

Thank you McLeod
Mark Terry

Fast Boats (surprised ?)
Maybe there should be a GOOD and BAD vendor list on OSO so we could, in a glance pick the right people to do bussiness with?? I think I kinda stole this concept from our youngest member Baja Daze, yesterday. Otto

These folks have provided better service than I could have expected. There was some bad rap about them a month or so back, which turned out to be all false, but just wanted to let everyone one how good they are to deal with.

My List of the people to buy from:

McLeod Design Group
Livorsi Marine
Port Jacksonville Sea Ray/Fountain
Myco Trailers
Racine Designs Jacksonville, FL. Don Racine
