To all Racers, Promotors, Foundation & Sanctioning bodies:
It is extremely important, in order to secure the proper $5,000,000. Spectator Liability for the event, along with the necessary Accidental Death & Excess Medical Coverage benefits for the partcipants, that all Race Boats and Particpants(Drivers & Crew) are fully registered as Race Partcipants of the Sanctioning body holding the event. (in this case SBI)
Members of APBA LLC, APBA Corp-Detroit, Unlimited, OPA, etc. would not be protected properly in any event, except one sanctioned by the organization they are members of.....
Bottom Line.....make sure that John Carbonell, registers your boat and crew as SBI Members/and SBI Race Boat with assigned Race # & Class....If he elects to waive the fee's....no problem....your in and protected. This is the only viable way to honor outside members....It is an issue related to Motor Sports Insurance policies, and must be addressed accordingly..
This will also protect the Race Site as well....If you have any questions, or need assistance, you can contact Rick Felsen at 516-466-9760 or cell phone at anytime 516-449-1134

Insurance issues
What about the APBA - Detroit and APBA - LLC. If Detroit didn't / won't give the registration $ mailed to Detroit to the LLC, what are the insurance issues with this? Only the LLC is conducting races...confusing. Any advice Hawk?

Ok, I'll bite.
What is the payout schedule by class?
What is the number of boats needed for a full payout of the 75K?
Is it as per SBI rules? If so, you'll need 50 or more boats to get to a full payout.
If 20 boats show up, what gets paid out?

Your touching on a political between APBA Offshore LLC and APBA Corp...We all have read the same thing...old news...outcome????
But, I can tell you that memberships and or registrations in the Offshore Divisions, both National & Divisional are being recognized by APBA Offshore and insured as One Participating group of Racers....Most members registered prior to the legal events that occurred, and therefore my Insurance (K & K) is aware of the situation. If APBA Corp.-Detroit sanctions a race, I'm sure that ASIS, will act the same way...not a major issue...

Ron P and All Racers,
The prize purse at the 19th Annual Suncoast Grand Prix Festival will be paid in accordance with the SBI rulebook, which requires 5 boats per class for a FULL payout for that class. If there are fewer than 5 boats in any class, the prize money will be distributed in accordance to the SBI rulebook for that class. These funds apply only to the eight National Classes. In addition, at this race site, the contingency funds will be paid for all classes that meet the 5 boat minimum, instead of the usually 8 boats, which adds an additional $1,000 per class.
So bring your friends (and enemies) to get 5 boats in your class. Any further questions can be addressed to SBI at (305) 296-6166.
Thanks and Let's Go Racing!!!!
