That was a good idea- for those who wants to read everything between the two of them- Maybe OSO would want to do that- create a section for Politics...

Well over there they dedicated an entire forum to the issue. Maybe some of the complaints about the location of these posts are shared by others on other boards too.

I believe it stands for Limited Liability Company
LLC on this board is just short for APBA Offshore LLC

I like that special forum idea! I propose that OSO steals that idea immediately. Actually, it's not called stealing anymore, it's "adhering to best practice."

I just wish someone that really understands all this warfare involving the APBA could sum it all up for those of us totally amazed at what has gone on for the past couple of years. Following are questions I would love to have answers to.
1) What is the real reason Reggie decided to move to SBI?
2) How is the APBA structured? I ask because I thought, mistakenly of course, that this was an offshore racing organization. I never even heard of this dispute involving "kneeldown" racers! I never even heard that term until I read this thread. Although every time I want a performance part for the boat I must kneel down before my wife and beg!
3) Who is this Ed person and his father and their friends? Never heard of them before.
4) Is it just me or does it seem like Mike Alweise has a tough time getting along with folks. Who put him in charge? Where did he come from? Boat racing background?
Thanks in advance to anyone who really understands all this and is willing to share.
Curt.

Don't know the history here

2) How is the APBA structured? I ask because I thought, mistakenly of course, that this was an offshore racing organization. I never even heard of this dispute involving "kneeldown" racers! APBA is based in Detriot MI. and is the sanctioning body for all types of powerboat raceing in the USA, Offshore LLC based in St. Pete Fl leases the APBA name and runs the Offshore category only.

3) Who is this Ed person and his father and their friends? Never heard of them before.

Ed Hearn is APBA Stock Outboard Chairman his father is the President of APBA(a point which is in dispute right know), the freind are the acting Board of directors of APBA(another point which is in dispute). There is also a dispute wether Offshore LLC owes APBA money or if APBA owes the LLC money.

4) Is it just me or does it seem like Mike Alweise has a tough time getting along with folks. Who put him in charge? Where did he come from? Boat racing background?

Mike A is the chairman of the Offshore category and one of the owner's of APBA Offshore LLC, I believe the CEO. As far as is racing background I don't know the history. As far as his not getting along with folks yes he rubs some people the wrong way, but he has many loyal followers also. He is very passionate about the sport of boat racing and believes in what he is doing and does whatever it takes to get things done. Whether that a good thing or not, it depends on who you talk to. What he does do is produce exciting Offshore races that the racers support.

Thanks in advance to anyone who really understands all this and is willing to share.
Curt.

I think this about sums it up.
