Seller doesn't want a Survey??
A buddy of mine is looking at a Boat in Houston and we are here in Kansas City. He has talked to the guy a couple times in the past few days. The guy was hard to get ahold of and has not been the best at returning phone calls, but I reminded my friend that they are going through a hurricane down there!! I told my friend to have a Survey before he went down to look at the boat! (Heck, he was ready to get in his truck and drive down there last week!!)
Today when they talked the Seller said it doesn't need a Survey and got a additude with my friend!!! (WTF?) My friend told the seller that he would pay for it and he still said "it's a clean boat and you can't find another "XYZ" Boat for that money"
My friend still likes the boat, but I told him I would tell that guy to stick it up his "you know what"!!!
What do you guy's think????

Walk away.
He'll probably need the survey for financing or insurance rerasons. There's no reason it shouldn't be done prior to purchase. Unless there's something to hide.

Houston, huh? I hope the seller isn't someone I know because I have to say shame on them! A seller shouldn't have problem with a survey, unless, as everyone said, he has something to hide. Tell your friend to be patient and find another boat.
