Smoothest riding, 70+ MPH boat in the 28 to 31 foot range

After talking with the wife, "we" have decided that it's not the cabin that's important, but rather the RIDE. Since I will be keeping the boat in a slip (on my home lake), I doubt that we will ever overnight in it.

So..... What would y'all consider to be the smoothest riding, 70+ MPH boat in the 28 to 31 foot range? My current boat will go over 70mph, but it can be a very rough ride on the weekends!

I want to keep the price under $60K, so I will be looking at older boats.

Thanks again! :D

Clay,

What happened to the 31-35 range? You're going the wrong way.

Clay Washington 07-16-2003 02:17 PM

LOL @ 29Fever. Yep, I'm getting smaller. I know that a 35-foot boat will ride smoother than a 31-foot boat, so making the boat "smaller" will make the question/poll tougher. Also, since the wife doesn't care about the cabin, I'm now looking for "dockside" appeal.

I still want an enclosed head, a place to sleep, and a place to "prepare food" so that I can write it off as a "house" on my income taxes. A/C and shore power would also be nice, but I don't think that a smaller, used boat will have that. I know they won't have a genset.

Sorry gotta beat your request by a foot and say the 32 Advantage, I've rode in a ton of boats, it's got the smoothest ride of any I've been on. and the roomy cockpit, and the sleeping room, and a/c, fridge, and I cant help you on the 60K thing. But what a hell of a smooth riding/fast hull.
