Very good stuff here!!!!!!!!
Congradulations Darren. It sounds like you will be possibly breaking ANOTHER offshore record in an already proven winner!!!
I have been to your site many times and enjoy all the pictures you share, so that some of others can see what's happening out there.
Steve, that is an awesome idea donating your boat for a "father/son" record attempt, which I am sure will be much more than an attempt!!!!!
Good luck to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the record.................
Darren did this all on his own...............and, while I am very proud of him, he makes his own decisions (especially about the speed he chose to target on Saturday). I fully support him in any project he wishes to undertake, but, make no mistake about it, this was his achievement, with some assistance from some very generous people, especially Bob and Dave.
We have discussed this at some length, and agree that the best thing to come out of this would be for others to follow, and break this record. We hope that some enthusiastic physically challenged person or ,(better yet) persons will be given the opportunity to learn (as Darren has) to throttle at world class speeds. This means that a skill set must be developed under the strictest safety guidelines, and that may take time and patience....... but, it's certainly worth it.
Darren's effort proves that if you want something badly enough....anything is possible. He is and always will be my hero.
The "Can do" trophy is aptly named, but will have a lot more meaning if the experience is shared and broadened to include others. Besides, healthy competition always raises the bar for everybody.
Thanks to all of you for your kind comments and offers... this sure seems to have united a lot of divergent voices.
T2x.............
P.S. Special thanks to Doug Lewis, whose courage, patience and talent have inspired Darren for years.
