I am a planner with metlife securities, I actually just got back into personal I was the agency director of our albany office for sometime, I eventually grew to hate it, it did not afford me enough boating time.

hugetime1,
I started in 1995 with PaineWebber in GF. The manager at the time in that office lied, made promises he did not keep and solicited my clients. For about 6 or so months I met with managers at many firms and spoke with wholesalers. The manager at Prudential Securities in Albany came highly recommended. He made me a great offer to come and I left PW in 1999. Well, I went from the frying pan to the fire! Same chit different office. I had a decent book of about 45 million under management and walked away. I am now at AYCO Asset Management and I really like it. I have a decent salary and bonus program. Last years bonus sucked because the market sucked. You may be aware but we were just bought by Goldman Sachs. So we shall see what comes of it over time. Going back into production no longer appealing as I don't want to rebuild a book. I have some ideas for some insurance guys like yourself where someone like myself could be an "Investment Specialist" and bring a lot of value to the table in that I can show you and your clients how to invest on a fee basis, use indexes, asset allocation, and control your own tax liabilities while not being subject to mutual fund distributions etc. But we shall see.
