How to add a third battery???

I have two batteries on a battery switch with positions 1,2 or both. Has anyone put a battery in parallel on position 1 or 2? Volts should stay the same, but I think the amperage available would go up. This would be OK allowing longer service to my radio and frig. Anyone done this? I really don't want to put another battery switch in.

run the second one in parallel with the battery that is connect to the "2" on the switch...that way you will can can remember what selection has two batteries and one.

I have installed a number of the units
that West Marine sells "XANTREX" and
have had no real problems.
What I like is having spare parts at
any store or Fed X.
