Default Poker Run on Grand Lake, OK

Ugly John's 2nd annual poker run will be held Aug. 2nd. It is a benefit for the American Heart Assoc.. The entry fee is $250(last year was $400). The purse will be determined by the number of entries. There was a good turn out last year, and I'm sure this year will be much better(lower cost). For those of you who have never been to Grand Lake, it is a beautiful lake and this would be a great opportunity to meet people from all over. I am not involved officially in the event, just passing the word. Hope to see and meet some OSO'ers. If anyone has any questions about the lake, I am sure I can answer them.

Some of you LOTO guys should come. It's only about 3 1/2 hours away pulling your boat.

There are also some seriously fast boats on Grand, no noise problems, and it's big. Lots of room to run.

Do you guys know how the course is laid out? I would like to park the Bluewater somewhere and take pictures of the boats going by.

I don't know yet. There are two classes, performance and cruiser. Last year the performance had stops at Moonies and sail boat bridge. We should cover the whole lake. I am sure sitting outside of Duck Creek would be a good spot. There is a split start, so I don't think they are going to let us run in Duck Creek. I don't blame them, we did that last year and it was pretty much a cluster ****. Pictures would be great though, last year there were some beautiful boats!(I had some competition) There are several new boats on the lake this year.(47 Fountain,Marine Technologies Cat, Outer Limits, Hustler,Eliminator, 50 Cary, several new Cigarettes, and all have great paint jobs.)

hmmm..... Since its not $400 I may consider it this year. How come its not being advertised very much?

Last year we sat just outside Duck Creek and really missed the action. You guys took off with cigracer leading the way inthe old boat if I remember right.

If the course runs to Cedar Port like it did last year then sitting about halfway to the dam would be a killer spot to see some early top end action. Last year the Flash Gordon boat was putting out some serious roost before he broke a gear box.

Think I can run my Scarab in the cruiser class?

Someone organizing the event should contact 1430 the buzz and go up there one day to promote it and I am sure they will let them do it for free.

If Eufaula can get 300 + boats Grand should be able to also. Problem is everybody "hears" how rough it is and stays away. If you've ever been to LOTO, Grand is smooth.

LOTO boys, load up and come on down!!!

Yea, I might even be in if the price is right. Last years price was way to high, even though I did run it. It was kinda fun, but it has room for improvement.
$250. sounds better. Ditto the new boats up at Grand. Buts it's not LOTO!
