27' Fountain Fever from a 272 Baja
I am currently looking at this boat and trading my 272 in on it. What are the good and bad's with this boat. I value everyone's opinions on this website and can't wait to hear from you guy's. I know what mine is already....LOL

It's a good boat, but MUCH smaller than the Baja. The ride will not be as good as you are use to. Boat will be a little faster with same power.
In terms of size, you are trading down.

You would be better looking at a 29 or even a 32 if you want a more comparable boat.
Fountains are like sports cars, like a vet, low and fast.
A baja is closer to say a grand prix, sporty but roomy.

Two different boats, the Baja cabin is bigger, but the Fountain will be much faster, Powerboat Baja 275 test 9/02 w/ 496mag top speed 62.4radar, 60.5gps, any 1994 or newer 27 Fountain will smoke that number. And yes the Baja does ride better, but who wouldn't 5-8 miles an hour slower.
Again two different boats, one I would say is more for family, the other for tearing up the water.
By the way come on over to the Fountain forum and we will give you a warm welcome.

There right.
The fountain is a smaller boat. Better quality
than the baja, In my opinion, I love the lines of
the 272. I went from 25'6" advantage to the
fountain and it was bigger. Fountain will
be faster. Look at 288 sunsation, quality and
size, close to fountain speed. JC

Oh, lost track of the question, the good and bad, 27 Fountain gas tank is 62 gallons, also Fountain could do a better job finishing the engine comp. Good, Fast, comes std, with almost everything, power bolsters, hydrolic steering, K-Planes, matching carpet, oh and the boat is ROCK SOLID.

Thanks guy's. It is just normally my girlfriend and I and another couple if that. She loves the cabin now with the room and the cockpit room so if I lose that she will not be impressed. I would be going form a 454 to a 502! I just don't know if it is worth it.

My 24 Outlaw had more room in it then the 27 Fountain I purchased after. No doubt had more speed but rougher ride, not a good trade off if where you boat is anything but calm. My .02 - I 2nd the 288 Sunsation - good ride & speed & nice size cabin.
