Help! Do you know anyone in the USCG?

I'm having a problem with my USCG 100 ton license & need to speak to someone. The only person in the renewal dept. that speaks to the public is the counter girl.
Long story short, my license expired in October 2001 when I was digging at ground zero in NYC so I really wasn't thinking about my license. A few months later, we had a baby (again, not thinking about the license).
Long story longer, I submitted all of my info along with my phisical exam & drug test 4 months after the grace period expired.
Someone must know a USCG official who might help me out?$$

COASTGUARDSMAN

DJD,

Dude, Sorry to hear you missed the date but unfortunately because of the existing 12 month grace period you are out of luck.

Go HERE for more info. Maybe you can find a reviewer that will help out. Remember you can file through any of the REC's.

BTW, I am in the Coast Guard and unlike by CG Bro's I also hold a license and even own a boat. I have a completely different view of most of the issues that we enforce and oversee.

Good luck and if you want to talk send a PM

Brad

Dave,

I have a good friend that is an attorney in the Guard. He is in my fire department. PM or e-mail your contact info and I will see if we can get his help on this. I don't know if he can do anything, but we can sure ask for his help. I will be home tonight.

Yes, but he's a ships inspector. Don't think he'd be of help.
