I will try to answer all the questions. Pier 57 broke on the second lap but was half a lap behind anyway, Bacardi was gone. Muscle was leading a close race with Firewater until Muscle broke. Switch second, Shockwave third, Instigator fourth after a spin out around the 3rd or 4th lap. They restarted after loosing a lap and ran hard the rest of the way. Sea tow broke off a blade while leading and Berry Cuda won. Total of 14 boats started. Very sad that it has come to this. Watching Bicardi at about 160 was worth the 5.00 admission but all in all SBI looks dismall at best. Little Reggie and Jeff did not race because the transmissions were running too hot. The boat ran 122 right out of the box and heard that the boat would run 130 in cool mornings. Looks like the Super V class is the next to go.

Not to get into an SBI/APBA pissing contest here but what really sucks is that because of the politics of these two groups, some really great classes of racing have either been lost or are dying a slow death. Super V-5 boats left, Super Cat Lite 4-6 boats maybe, prostock dead, stock 4-6 boats, Superboat 2-3 boats left. Its unfortunate because there still are alot of good race boats out there sitting around not racing because either there is no class for them anywhere, or the rules have changed and made the boats noncompetitive or that the cheating aspect has left a bitter taste in peoples mouth regarding racing. I know some people would say goto P class racing but I think that most racers after having raced on Sundays would not want to race short races on Saturdays. Their egos would'nt permit that.
