This thread is interesting...

I think Tank's assesment is dead on. If you are on the water who cares. If someone pulls up next to me in a Bayliner I will treat him the same as if he rolls up in a high end piece of equipment as long as he is not an a$$hole.

That being said, the Cig I just sold was hands down the best boat I have ever owned. I really don't think you can honestly say that Cig and Fountain are in the same category. It's like comparing a Timex to a Rolex, they both keep time and that is where the comparison ends. If the boat I just bought is 1/2 the boat the Cig was I will be happy. My.02.

So theres been one hiccup in 30 years and it didnt even knock the little guy out of the big chair.......he's still in Washington NC....so instead of making ALL the calls himself like he has for 30 years, he has to run them past a board of directors first is what it amounts to......I dont think we'll be seeing 17ft bowriders coming from Fountain....
you dont really want to get into the sorid history of Cigarette's financial woes do you??? ......christ we'll have to call T2X!!!!!

you guys and your memories......todays races are short course.......thats the way it is......were sorry.......Fountains accelerate, turn and go fast enough to win......in todays arena......If the races were long open ocean races today like they were "15- 20 years ago" Id bet MY bottom dollar Reggie would have a suitable boat and still whip everybodys azz.......knock it off with the memories already.......sheesh

ps 20 yrs ago.....1985.....the company was in its infancy.....did he even race at all.....
