My guess would be a failure in the Gimbal ring and the props met! What were they saying in the pit?

Man, and Spiderman had a very nice lead too! I hope that everybody got to see the course marker break loose! All of a sudden boats started missing the turn. We couldn't figure out what was happening until the wind really grabbed the marker and it took off. Sure was entertaining watching them try to adjust course to make the moving marker. Everybody was being cool about it and either adjusting course or turning around. Until Pier 57 came along. They just went around the corner like it had never moved. Passed somebody in the process too. They didn't even complete another lap before they pulled off the course.

I`d like to here from the experts on this one but it looks to me as if the gimbal ring broke. Another good reason to have dual ram hydraulic steering on a high performance boat.
