Bad situation for sure. Wait until the sun sets in those cities. Hopefully, everyone stays civil through this. Would hate to see it get out of control.

My father-in-law was stuck in a subway for 3 hours. They finally had to pry the doors open and start walking to street level.

Looks like im stuck pulling a 24 hour shift. I do computer stuff for Merrill Lynch in NYC, and our night crew cant get into the city, so us day guys get to hold down the ship. Good news is that we have a giant turbine in the basement for power, and since its a computer operations center, the AC is still blowing cold. Anyone have a cup of coffee? I was just outside, and the city looks cool as hell with no lights.........ive never seen anything like it......

I just got home from the fire house. Power went out and by 4:30 they were calling all fire deparments to their stations for standby. We had it pretty easy for the most part. Some neighboring towns had fire, car accidents because of no traffic signals, medical calls because people's home systems shut down. We have a generator here and at the fire house so we were okay. Funny thing though. There were small sections right here in the Albany area that NEVER lost power but all around them was totally out. STRANGE! Anyway. Back to normal now I guess. I hope. I can only imagine the streets in major cities like NYC if the power was out over night. I hope all those people walking got home okay. Sure glad I wasn't there!
