The guy that did that finishline camera works with me at the bank, he has a video production business on the side. I just viewed the tape on a small screen, I am going to have him put it on the big screen in slow motion to get a better view.

I also just volunteered to help 1 day at that camera site next year :D Nothing like being right at the finish of 205 :D

Gary is right, because of the staging area to the west the start is smooth, but at the finish the no wake zone is a lot closer to they may need to back that up a mile on the lake.

While I was waiting to run I got to chatting with several of the guys. They said that on sunday (the day of the HTM flip) that there were some major rollers going through the course. Luckly they wern't there on Sunday.

They clearly call the event a "Race". Most insurance policies do not include races as covered events. Therefore, he is proably out in the cold for coverage. This really sucks and I wish they would call the event a "charity fund raiser" not a race. Then people would be insured.

Bucks reply was related to a wreck that we saw late Friday night. Some boat was running and it crashed into somthing. We never saw a second boat, so we don't know what they hit. They brought 5 people out of the boat. 3 on stretchers with facial injuries and two walking. There wasn't a whole lot left of the boat as the front end was pretty well mashed in.

I believe it was a small runabout that ran into a 40' Sea Ray...??? Sounds messy heh?..... :(
Hope everybody is okay...

It was a 22 ft Cobalt that ran into the 40 Searay.

What I got from talking with the driver's family was that they have a additional policy that covers the boat in events like this. They called it racers insurance. It is a separate policy.

The boat that hit the Searay said they never saw it, the sea ray driver did and took evasive action and the smaller boat center punched it from what I hear at about midnight. Smaller boat was running about 30.

Thank god no one was killed in that accident either.
