38' Cougar Cat

I saw a stripped out 38' cat last weekend. It was an old raceboat with twin cockpits. The hull was a twin step cat with a low profile and almost 12' beam, similar to a cougar. I was told it was a cougar, but it was a fiberglass boat, not aluminum.
Did cougar lay up fiberglass 38' cats?
