I still have one on my truck that will do you just fine. It even comes with a good looking chick magnet hat.

I have the Sony cybershot P72. They make many cybershot models, each have specific features. I can take pics in many modes, up to 3.2 mega pixels, take video or just audio. I really like it. The screen size is 1.6 inches I believe. Not sure if its the best, but if you buy a brand name you can't miss.

Good luck

I just bought the Sony DSC_V1 ,5 mp , 4 opt zoom up to 16 zoom on lower setting ,nite time shooting. pretty easy to use, memory sticks are pricey though,it real small has every thing and doses the movie clips. I paid 599 from newegg free shipping and Sony has a 75.00 rebated now.I saved 175.00 plus tax over store here.

I researched on dpreview and steves theres more info than you can handle. Becarefull when buying on INTERNET , ck there rating and reviews ,the cheapest will get you screwed,

I have an old Olympus. The two most important things in my opinion are the megapixels, should be no less than 3.0 and how long it take the camera to write to the memory card. My Olympus is painfully slow and you can't take another picture until it finishes writing to card.

I have missed many a good photo because the camera is slow. I know the new Olympus' have fixed this.

IF YOUR INTO ACTION
find a used one of these 10x Opt zoom
Pre capture "no one has this" if you doing action shots
this was one camera that didnt miss anything
7.5 frames a sec both 15 annd 30 fps video mode
I use it for boat flyby's 15fps 640x480 video capture
or 340x240 30 fps
if you plan on doing large still Photo's get a high res camera this one is one 1.5million but trade secret is its actually same as the 3 megpixel, High mega pixel wont do you any good till you get to about 8x10 prints
whats good about high pixels if you miss the shot
I got some good airborne Boat shots with this
fast shutter camera, too bad they discontinued it.

here is one frame from movie mode original frame was 640x480 good for posting but not printing above 4x6
which is iffy
