I would pass that one up. It is desireable
with the low miles and in excellent condition but really has no collectability. I also would not expect it to appreciate as other more desireable corvettes will. Go with an older one and you can save money on insurance

If you want to spend that kind of coin on that kinda car, go buy a pristine 88 or 89 IROC-Z or GTA with the 5.7L and T-Tops.

I'd say anyone that paid that kind of money for any mid 80's Corvette is out of their mind! I don't care if you have documented proof that Elvis bought it new, it's not worth more than $6000! Don't waste your money.

For 14K I would buy a late 80's vette with tpi or early 90's with an lt1 would be my first choice. Although I would buy the tpi just because I think it looks cool!

TPI's are pigs. Buy a LT1 or better. Nothing worse than owning a TPI vette and getting smoked by every stupid little import!

Had an `85 a few years back with the Z-51 suspention and the car would rattle your fillings out on anything but perfect roads, did have some nuts, but by today's standards not that quick, you may be better off spending that same dough to get a LT-1, good luck, fun cars no matter what though....Matt

The question with price and value is determined by the area. A low mileage vette is always gonna ask a premium price regardless of year. It doesnt always warrant the price but they will ask it because it is a car people are passionate about. Approximately 6 years back I bought a 85 with 80k plus miles on it. The car was in good shape and ran like a bat out of he!!. I dont know if anything was done by a previous owner but I do know that is was faster than a 98 mustang GT that tried to race me. NADA, Kelly Blue Book and the likes are never accurate with the going prices on collectable cars. Good luck.

The 84's and 85's were suposivly Corvettes worst years. If I remember right it was something like the brain for the dash boards going out and they were BIG money to replace. Plus the ride factor. Anyone remember this? Dave

No Woody !!!! I'm not bashing vettes.......

No it's an AT but runs like a raped ape. Ran a twin turbo RX7 and we talked for hours at the gas station after I smoked him
