Wow,
Even though those boys are a little on the goofy side, I have seen the show and it is incredible. The most entertaining live performance I have ever seen.
Just like any other kind of activity that involves equipment or animals. There is that opportunity for injury. Comes with the trade.
I hope he makes a full recovery.

Wow! He is a lucky man. Those big cats are extremely powerful. A few years ago I went to the Ringling Bros. Circus and remember watching the tigers perform. What struck me was the fact that those 350 lb. cats moved and acted just like a common house cat, only bigger. Our cat has caught and killed rabbits more than half it's size. An unarmed man is helpless if the tiger attacks. Because the animal trainers make it look so easy the danger involved is not appreciated by the average person watching the show. I hope he recovers and is able to continue to do the show.

It is amazing the power of a lot of animals. The strength to size ratio of animals is just crazy. Everyone can assume the strength of Elephants and Grizzly Bears, but when you hear about a 60 lbs monkey having the strength of 8 men, that blows you away.
Size means nothing. We have all seen a little guy kick the chit out of a loud mouth big guy. There isn't a man alive that could take an 80 lbs Mountain Lion.
Mind boggling.

A cats a cat. You can play and roughhouse with your own and not get hurt. But 10 or 12 lbs versus 350 lbs...big difference.
I had a Maine Coon that was attacked by a Doberman ...well he showed that dog "who da daddy was"

I have seen this show recently. We were sitting in the front row of tables. Those big cats were just yards away from us. While I was sitting there, an occassional thought went through my mind of " What if these cats got mad " then I said to myself, there must be a sniper rifle pointed at these cats through out the entire performance. The Mirage Hotel can't take a chance of one attacking someone in the audience. Even though this time it was someone on stage, it could have gone after anyone it wanted to.
I guess I was wrong...

I saw the show a few years ago and it was incredible. I wanted to see it before something like this happened and would never see it again. As strange and goofy as they are, their show, talent and love of the animals is very respectable. Best wishes for his recovery.

You take a Wild Animal. I dont care if they were raised in captivity or not, they are still wild. Force them to do stunts and acts that are not natural and dont let them act according to instincts. What do you expect to happen. How would you react if you were forced into a life of servitude?
