Cigarette t-shirt offends many!
This morning I participated in a half-marathon run (13.1 miles) as part of my 17 mile training run as I prepare for the NYC Marathon in 4 weeks. As luck would have it, the temperature was in the 40s when it began. So, I chose to wear a long-sleeved t-shirt.
I wore my navy Cigarette Racing Team shirt with the logo on the back and name down the left sleeve. Well, wouldn't you know it. In a crowd of tens of thousands, several people (I lost count) were aghast that I was wearing such a shirt. The offense was that I was (in their words) "a ____ loser promoting tobacco use to atheletes during a run." At first I felt I needed to explain the shirts origins, then I decided that those offended:
-couldn't read
-were probably sailors
So, I started to revel in the irritation I caused! I felt that was the appropriate response. So whenever I heard some idiot, I'd just smile and quickly strive to pass them while straining not to breathe hard so as to appear to be kicking their butts!
So, everyone who comes to NYC's Central Park should proudly wear an article of clothing that might irritated those that can't read! It's great fun.

I wear mine to school. Teachers get pissed off because it "Promotes tobacco use" and I have been searched a few times, but Im not stupid enough to have anything to get in trouble at schoo. I did explain the shirt the first few times though.
