Porti Pottis and Y-valves.
Alabama just passed a new law that all head Y-valves must be sealed in the closed position, and that Porti Pottis are completely illegal. Is something like this in place in other states are is it just Alabama?. I asked our Marine Police officer how to seal a Y-valve,he said a ty-strap would meet the requirement! Seems a little pointless to me,Half the pontoon boats on our lake have Porti-pottis plus a lot of the smaller pleasure boats. Glad I don't have many in stock.

Alabama had rather you just hang your rump off the side and splash the log directly in the drink. The catfish don't like the blue flavoring that the logs get in a porta can.

Fine for y-valve not sealed $1000, Fine for just having a PortiPotti on board whether used or not,$1000.Fine for crapping in a bucket and throwing overboard $100.Nothing wrong with getting your priorities right.

You can still use the head,it just has to go into a holding tank and be pumped out at a marina. As of 10/1,all marinas that store a boat with a head have to have a punmpout station.

why dont they just fine you for dumping your porta potty over board ?
I have a 4 inch cleanout in the yard , So I just unscrew the cap and dump directly into the local sewage system.
