Friend found a '63 327 coupe for $32k. The numbers were matched to a fuelie motor, which he later located in pieces and put in the car.
His buddy is cloning a '66 smallblock automatic coupe into a bigblock 4 speed. I believe he bought that car for around $20k but it needed the windshield header reworked.
Be careful of "numbers matching" cars, my friend is a serious Vette guru and is well-known as a top notch frame-off resto guy, and he got caught by a forgery of an L89 convertible, one of 16 and the only red with black interior (he had a buyer offering over $200k if it could be verified and it failed only when the original owner was located and still knew where the original totalled frame was still located).
I'm more like your friend. Give me a driver with a bigblock and who cares if the numbers match - matching numbers don't make them any more fun to drive.

Harry - Would like to talk with you about bringing your car to the spring Mason Dixon NCRS show. I'd love to get a change to help judge it.
Biggus - Go to www.corvetteforum.com and click the C2's for sale section. I'll also ask my wife for her link list of Corvette's for sale sites (can't find it one her website, must have moved it) as she is WAY into Corvettes (has 2 of them, would have more if we had a bigger garage/driveway).
