OT: Hypertech prog. for Chev.
Sorry for the OT post, but has anyone used a Hypertech Power Programmer for the Chevy 8.1L. I have a 2001 2500HD with the 8.1 and recently picked up the programmer, it came with a 160 deg. power stat, (thermostat) and I was a little nervous about that being too low. Should I program it w/o it, or go ahead and put it in? Thanks in advance.

I did not install a thermostat with my 8.1L and PPIII. What are you going to do with the programmer? I only want to run regular gas, so I did do not do much except change the tire size. When I get an inkling though, I will fill up with Sunoco 104, and advance the timing, crispen the shifts, and raise the rev limiter.

I'm not doing much, plan on bigger tires soon so I figured I would see how good it is. Once I get the tires on I might change some things but nothing drastic. I went ahead and programmed it w/o the powerstat today, have not been out to test it yet but thanks for your help.
