28' Daytona vs 30'

What's the real deal, talking to dealers it seems like the one there trying to sell is always better. I've heard the 30' is a faster and more stable hull, is this true?

I have not been in are drove a 30, but I do have a little seat time in a 28 daytona with twin 496's, it is a great boat, it would be hard to beat, it drives like a bigger boat, and it runs well in rough water, but you know the old saying get the biggest boat you can afford!!!!

How fast was the 28?

rbtnt has a *****EN 28 in Ohio, with BIG motors that absolutely rocks. Try PM'ing him.

I used to own a 28 daytona. Real sweet boat!!:D It would run a honest 97-98 mph with twin 500"s bone stock. It felt real stable and had plenty of room for more horsepower. I sold it to another OSO member in Cinncintti. They are a nice boat for not alot of mone. The 30 take another jump in good jump in price, and I recently bought a 36 for less than I could have bought a 30 for. I can hook you up Corey in Cinn if you have more questions. He has plans to install extention boxes, and other goodies. Here is pic's of both my 28 and 36

I've seen that boat at LOTO, sweet ride.

A friend of mine has a 30. Its a sweet ride. With 500's it ran 104 and with new 575's it runs closer to 115. Real stable feeling boat and good rough water ride. Real nice looking too.

The 30 is a little faster than the 28 with the same power. You might want a windshield on the 28 and the 28 has more room up front if you're planning on staying overnight in it.

I have been in a 30 with 500 EFIs and shortie drives at 107. The 28 feels a little more stern heavy without the standoff boxes.

I think the 28 is ~ 5 mph slower on the average. It is hard to compare, because of how Eliminator sets the engines height and separation. I have seen a difference of 2.25" on engine separation and 2" difference on X-dimension.

How much more room does the 28 have in it?
