Puerto Rico didn't make the list but this island could easily top it.
This October's count pushed the murder numbers to already exceed last years murder rate of 25 per 100,000 compared to New York City of 12 per 100,000 compared to 7 per 100,000 nation wide, United States.
And I sometimes still have reservations about leaving.

Damn, if only we pulled together here in St Louis and killed the required number of people, we could have been number 1!
And sure, we're one of the highest in infant mortality, lead poisoning, and the elementary schools are not acredited. And most of the major industries are moving away including the old TWA hub.
So what's our cities solution? Build a new ballpark for the Cardinals.

new orleans only #13 we have murders every day in fact there were a few captains of the police dept. that are on suspension for altering crime stats to make it look as the crime rates are going down i do not go to new orleans unless i really have to. i know people think the french quarter is a cool place, and so is a few upscale areas. other than that, N O is a dump. poverty rate is sky high, unemployment, trash everywhere.

Casinos! Why, we got those too. A great idea 10 years ago to bring in tourism. Unfortunately EVERYBODY has casinos now! So no tourism dollers there. They just move money from the local population to the casino owners and state (taxes). So the state can build more ballparks!.
