I installed Sirius on on my Formula this summer. It has been great. On the lake where normal radio stations are few and far between, Sirius gives perfect digital quality sound. Also just got back from Key West, and it worked flawlessly all the way down and back. My boat was Sirius ready so it made the decision somewhat easier, but from my comparison, they are similar in their offerings. Sirius is a little more expensive per month as mentioned above. Most XM or Sirius ready units still require you to buy a "receiver". At the time this cost me ~$200 bucks.

I have XM in my Yukon XL, I listen to it all the time. The thing that starting to turn me off to this service is the damn commercials. I feel if I am paying for this I should not have to listen to the commercials.
I can listen to those same commercials for free on regular radio |
Scott, $12.99 minus $9.99 equals $3.00. Learned it in grade school.

I got the reciever for free for my radio. It was sirius ready and all I needed to do was add the reciever. I bought the antenna ($50) and got the reciever, installed it myself(took like 30 minutes) and called them to have it activated. I had sound before I even hung up the phone. There are multiple payment options also. monthly, yearly, and LIFETIME!.. I considered that option, pay once... have it for life... $399... I paid for the year ($150).

Originally posted by Clay Washington In the boat I have a Sony CDX-CA710X which is "XM-Ready" (whatever that means). While I would like to add XM radio to the boat, I don't want to pay for a 12-month subscription when I only use the boat for 8 months (March thru October). Plus, I would like to only pay for one subscription and be able to listen to XM radio in both the boat and the truck. Any suggestions? :( |
