Any OSO members in the Houston area
I am looking at a 38 Scarab Excel online located in Dickinson, Texas about 30 miles S.E. of Houston. As negotiations progress I would most appreciate an experienced OSO member who would be willing to check the boat out for me. If needed I would compensate for gas-time-whatever. Anyone out there who could take a few minutes to give me a first hand opinion of this boat?

I live about 10 miles from American Yacht Sales. I wouldn't mind giving it a look for you.
Other than overall cleanliness are there any specific things to look for? Like certain areas to look for cracks etc.
It will be Friday or Saturday before I can get to it though.
If there is anyone else in the area that would also like to go let me know, maybe we could meet up.

FeverFan,
Not sure if those are classified as an Excel. The older model 38's were. The purple one has been decently taken care of. I think it has 600sc's in it.
No comments on the yellow one. I new the guy that use to own it. Has bad carma with it.
I don't need to go into details on this one.

Thanks FeverFan, the boat is located at Victory One Marine. Hopefully you are familiar with it, if not let me know. I would just like an impartial opinion on the boat and trailer, it looks great in the pictures they sent and the broker says it is great but an outside source will tell me the truth. Just look at it like you were the customer, see what, if anything is wrong and let me know what you think. This weekend would be great but if it takes longer that is OK. I know everyone is busy with Christmas and I certainly don't want to add extra travel to anyones schedule. Email me if you like and I will give you further info. [email protected]
here is a picture of the boat I am looking at.
