Default Whats up w/no offshore boats in Hawaii??!!

I got sick of the cold weather so we went to Hawaii for X-mas. It always amazes me that theres no offshore boats over here. I've been coming here for my whole life and have NEVER seen anything close to an offshore racing boat. You'd think with all the million dollar houses (Cristy Brinkley just sold hers down the road for 3.5 mil) that there'd be some people with some money that like to go fast in this gorgeous water/weather....but no. And the water out there is nice. Smooth, small swells with occasional wind chop. Nothing anything over 26' couldn't power down. What's the dealio?? I don't get it.

Tank

Maybe I should clarify though...I'm on the big island, in Kona. No fast boats here. I think there are some in Honolulu/Maui....But not here.

Ever priced what it would take to ship one there???

And besides that they are too busy taking money for tourists to go boating.

I'd love to have a offshore boat there just to be able to run between the islands
