I can't believe this thread either, and I started it.

Yes, truly a TALENTED bunch here. Some of the most twisted minds anywhere. Twisted as in I had a picture of one of the heated shower/bathroom toilets full of empties on a cold, rainy day at the marina, on my computer...ready to share. :D It was actually a pretty good party...lots of folks stopped in from around the marina, admiring our determination to be warm and loaded . :p

Allright, I'm embarassing myself with my post count on this thread but a funny story related to this. As a general contractor, we recently built a huge building with Olympic size pools, and ice rinks in it. The plumber we used connected all the pool deck overflow drains to each other - and to nothing else! We had barely received a call about this when another client called to thank us for his wonderful "heated toilets" that we had installed (same plumber). Upon closer examination, we found that all the toilets had been connected to HOT water! Gave us good marks in the client's opinion!:D

OK. I know there is a difference between a head, and a toilet.

Our boat had a 5 gallon Port-a-potti type thing in it (on a 31' Express?) when we bought it. I bought your basic replacement head, 35 gallon holding tank, plumbing, etc. without thinking much about it. People do this all the time, right?

Put the replacement head in place, and it was like sitting on a phone book! I had t make a base for it to get rid of the "sitting-on-the-floor" feeling.

The base is actually 4 pieces of Poplar painted white. 3 years later still looks and works fine.
