Dreamer, you posted a portion of my post. Am I to believe that you consider a lion to be more valuable than a human being?
I don't support the wanton distruction of anything, but flip over to the Discovery channel sometime and watch how wild animals treat themselves. IF there were only 2 lions left in the whole world, a. they wouldn't know it, or care about it, b. would be just as likely to kill each other trying to establish who was dominant. We don't know this guy was shooting this thing for sport (it was found on his boat, or he shot it in Canada, or etc.....), if it was for self preservation, I'm voting for the human to win. I happen to believe we have immeasurably more value than any of the other creatures. It is the order of things. |
Dreamer, am I the A$$ you are referring to? Or people from bass ackwards 3rd world armpit nations who are making stimulants and ashtrays?
BTW, you seem great at making up numbers. And, I suspect a little thought would lead to some interesting conclusions. Probably too much to expect. Also, while primates might have similar DNA to humans, they aren't my cousins. What the heck, I'm feeling pissy, we didn't evolve from them either. They were created as primates, always have been primates and always will be. We were created as humans, always have been and always will be. |
I don't hunt anymore, mainly because I hate to be cold. It is a beautiful cat but if I saw it on my property I would kill it too. I have kids they come first and if it's that close to me already it would snatch a 6 year old up in a second.

The following pictures are of a guy who works for the Forest Service in
Alaska. He was out deer hunting when a very, very large, world-record-sized Grizzly charged him from about 50 yards away. The guy unloaded a 7mm Magnum Semi-automatic into the bear and dropped it, finally, when it was only a few feet away. The monster was still alive, so he reloaded and capped it in the head. The Grizzly weighed over one thousand, six hundred pounds, was 12'6" high at the shoulder, 14' to the top of his head. It was the largest grizzly bear ever recorded in the world. Of course, the game department did not let him keep it: It will be mounted and put on display at the Anchorage airport (to remind tourist's of the risks involved when in the wiild). Think about it. You would be at eye level with the bear's belly button when he stood, and he would look you in the eye when walking on all fours. This bear, standing on its hind legs, could walk up to the average single story house and look out over its roof .... The bear had killed - and partially devoured - 2 other people before running into our hero. His last meal was a man on a nature hike. The Forest Service found that poor fellow's 38-caliber near his partially-devoured corpse, emptied. He'd shot 6-times and hit the grizzly 4 (they found seven 7mm slugs and four 38 caliber slugs in him) but obviously only wounded him since that incident was estimated to have occurred about 3 days prior to the bear's death at the hands of the Forest Service man. |
