OT, How to attach pic to your sig. line

How do you do this? The subject was JUST here, but was deleted. (Was using it as a reference) THANKS :mad:

trying to use a pic from Webshots.
Have tried [img] http://community.webshots.com/photo/...65312512QApIJw[/img] nothing.

US1, that's a huge pict, but you're on the right track. You'll need to load up a small image somewhere like within your ISP free area. Comcast, and others offer space as part of your subscription.

1. Right click the image when it's viewed.
2. Select Properties.
3. copy the address/URL displayed in the box.
4. Paste it into your browser and hit go
5. This confirms the image by itself

Now use the image tags as you listed above.

It just appears like the URL could be too long and perhaps parsed. It's not showing the jpg file extension.

Would a clickable link work?

Way cool boat!

NICE BOAT CORD! :D

Keith, I thought that since it is only approx. 550 x 450, it would be fire. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to most of this PC stuff.

Thanks

US1, usually a graphic about 150x150 or less is good for a signature. I can resize it for you if you need help. Looks like you're missing the full URL again.

The code to display the pict and pull in the link would look something like this:

replace the braces {} with square brackets [ & ]. The software is interpreting the code, so I can't show it the way it's supposed to be. This should at least give you the proper syntax.

Code:

{url=http://www.cbpba.com}{b}CHESAPEAKE BAY POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION{/b}

{img}http://www.cbpba.com/assets/images/scarab150.jpg{/img}{/url}

Going with a relatively smaller picture loads faster for others who are surfing the board. Loading up graphics takes a long time for the dialup modem jockeys, and they still make up the majority of internet users. :D Poor bastages. Here's a version of it resized to 150. Right click the image and select "Save as".

Load it up on your server, and get the URL. When you load it in your browser, it should appear as mine does. http://www.cbpba.com/assets/images/scarab150.jpg

Keith, thanks for the help!
I was clicking on e picture I wanted from my webshots, then coping/pasting from the address bar, not from the properties of the picture itself. That's why there was no jpeg extension. Now just playing with resizing to get a good pic but clearer. Whenever I resize smaller, the picture gets real fuzzy.
Thanks again,
Jerry

No prob Jerry. Looking at the properties of your signature link, it would appear you have it coded properly now. It's possible the URL is too long or something else is throwing it off from displaying.

The other possible thing is there could be a limit to signature size, in terms of pixels and/or characters.
