Default Boat Cabins

Just another thought question. Cats and Vees

I recently had the pleasure to ride in the 36 Nor-Tech Cat. It had a cabin for the Mrs. to change in and was really well done considering the room available. I have an old school, no pun intended, cabin in my current boat with leather everywhere and the basics.

The same trip I also was lucky enough to ride in a OT that was decked downstairs.

What are the thoughts of OSO boaters, I know Steve prefers no cabin at all. Do you like all the frills, no frills, half cabin, etc.

No name calling just a discussion.

Scott, i think it depends on how much time you spend "down below".Personally i say go with the full race treatment!Cabins are for sissies in rain storms In two summers i have slept in my cabin just 3 times.I guess it just depends on your priorities?

Good Point but the Mrs. would be ticked if she did not have a place to change at the least. That is at least my situation.

I like cabins. I stay on my boat a LOT in the summer. Give me all the frills. The extra 1-2 mph they might cost the average (non-race) boat is worth it to me!!

Since we stay on our boat every weekend during spring, summer and fall........ I need the cabin, and then more.

Fowl I would have thought you would like the space down below to carry extra tools, maybe a tow rope, some extra wire, spark plugs, fan belts, gaskets, flare gun etc....

Sorry dude couldn't help it

So what's up w/ the Baja this winter? Are gonna get her running and keep her?

I like a comfortable cabin but I don't need plasma tv. I like to sleep "on the hook" when the weather is cooler.

I like a cabin with all the frills. Can't be big pimpin' without all the toys. I'm going to add a tv and dvd for the kids soon. Just need more power, not less toys!

Basic for us. Refrigerator is all. The wife won't stay on the boat. She also likes the comforts of a condo or home.....
