Need computer help!
I picked something up on my computer that keeps changing my home page and gives me an annoying pop up every time I go on OSO. I have Black Ice, Panda anti virus and ad aware and it still got through. I have done a couple of scans with ad aware and it does not pick it up. Any help would be appreciated.

How to get rid of that specific popup (after all other avenues have been exhausted). Assumes that you have Internet Explorer:
1.) Open History (History button in taskbar, or View > Explorer Bar > History, or ctl-H)
2.) Set "View" to "By Order Visited Today" - the culprits will float to the top.
3.) Now right-click on the unwanted link in histrory. Properties. Look in "Internet Address" Say, the address there is "http://www.thisnastysite.vu/gotcha/thishurts.asp?humdrum" - Copy just the "http://www.thisnastysite.vu" part.
4.) Tools > Internet Options > Security > Restricted > Sites > Add this site to the zone: Paste in the domain, in this case "http://www.thisnastysite.vu" Add. Ok.
5.) Repeat as often as necessary. There usually are several, one calls the other. Get 'em all & lock them out.
Now, they won't bother you no more.

Go to www dot lavasoft dot nu and download their free software called ad-aware. (sorry, it would not let me post the URL since I am a newbie to OSO). It should remove all popup software, spyware, etc. Great little tool. The ad-aware plus is also worth the $25 to help stop popups as you cruise the web.
Hope this helps.

We get one every once in a while that opens both the cd rom and cdrw drives and then says that the drives are open and then changes the homepage. It is a pain in the ass but it only happens every once in a while.

I just did a system restore and that took care of the problem. Thanks to everyone for the help. Every time I have a problem with this thing I learn a little more about it. I knew I could count on My OSO brothers and sisters to have an answer!
