Tommy, speaking spanish can be learned in one year, conversational spanish anway. The hardest part of it is conjugating verbs. All spanish verbs are either male or female in origin, and must be conjugated accordingly. That is the part I struggled with for the 3 years I took spanish in high school/college.
I can't write it very well. But, I do understand quite a bit of it. Can read it quite well too. Think of all the spanish you already know: Taco Burrito Enchilada Cerveza mamacita! Tequila Cabo Wabo Hasta banana.....oops Hasta winnebago.....oops again! And many more I'm sure! |

I learn spanish in school, and im in spanish 2, basically its review review review.... do basic stuff and then keep advancing once your learn more things.

Friend of mine went to Chile a while back, he learned to say basic stuff like where is your bathroom perfectly, only problem is they answer you in spanish thinking you can understand, if say bano and point like a honkey then they will just point which way it is, works pretty good, lots of people in houston speak spanish and I have tried every way to learn, tapes for your car (get old after about a week), classes ( took in high school back in nashville but no one there speaks it so i forgot most of it) and there is some software you can get at bookstores that is more interactive, haven't tried that one yet but am thinking about it. No matter how much you learn, even if it is basic, being around it makes a big difference in keeping it.
