I truely believe that this is the most beautifull 27/28 ever made. Look at that long flat deck, the lines, the baby windscreen. What a true classic.Old school classy 100%.

that mag is sweet yellowbird. not only are they timeless classics they are still highly competitive today. see them regularly on the race course kick'n a$$. my dream boat is to find an old mag sport and resore it. put a sit down Gladiator style cockpit in it an a pair of hot small blocks with brovos. got a line on a 28 maltese with some interesting parts that come with it but honestly like the sport deck better and will continue to search.

great pic Lucy. . sweet lookin classic

thanks yellowbird, believe it or not i'm looking for a project boat. have some very specific things i want to do. not to afraid of old fiberglass, i think i know someone that can handle it . i have seen that red boat and have about 20 pics form the ebay ad ( i think it was ebay) very cool boat and a good deal for the $$. also Magnum still makes them although i dont think they push them much as they concentrate mainly on large performance cruisers. they had a concept drawing of an anniversary edition sport with a really cool dash and cockpit. dont know if they ever made it though. was supposed to hav a pair of 500efi's.

theres a company in norway i think it is that is building a splash of the sport. guys name is Magnus he emailed a few pics not to long ago. not to bad but i will hold out for an original.

same here. i was lookin for it just before i posted and could not find it. i did download it last time i saw it though. i will hafta see if i can find it. thing was sweet. update on the dash an side scoops was very cool. havent heard of any being built though. i'm guessing it has somthing to do with their pricing. saw a blurb in powerboating that had a pretty hefty price tag listed.

yellow- the article i read said that their intent was to get back into racing but thats all i ever heard about it, just that one blurb. hopefully some day they will.

as far as hull diff. i have been told the hull is the same with the starefire and the sport as well as the 28 maltese. all three of em are the same. just diferent decks and i believe the maltese has a cabin liner.

sit down seating is a must for me if i get a sport. just not enough freeboard for a full stand up bolster although magnuman sure did a hell of a job with his. i just have this vision in my head of something like a scaled down gladiator. maybe even lose the rear seat and do a full stagger and standoff boxes. not to concerned about cabin amenities. i guess its the equivalent of a crotch-rocket for the water

looks like we are think'n alot alike

The AT is much better boat hands down.

The Sonic's need the tabs down to keep from porpoising while the AT ran smooth.
I always liked you Hot Boat......you speak the truth!!!

Yellowbird

Thanks for posting a picture of my Checkmate. I was going to but you beat me to it. It has twin 454 mags with Whipples.

One on the trailer.
