Opinions needed on this truck

We are looking at upgrading trucks to pull the 42 Sonic with. We use a f-350 now which does the job but I feel we are at our limit. Thanks,

David

Great for towing, but might not be good for a daily driver, although it would not bother me.:D

Those things can tow and ride is like a stiff 4x4 in the regular cab, but I havent been in a crew cab with a bed so it should be better. Also look at the SUPERCRUIZER for another option like that or the peterbuilt sport cabs as well. along with the aformentioned freightliner.

How well does the F-350 two your 42 Sonic?

I just bought a Donzi 38' ZX and have pulled it a couple of times with an F-250. Just sold the 250 and am ordering a new truck also. Was just wondering if the 250 or 350 would be enough. Don't want the dually if I can avoid it. It will sometimes be the wifes daily driver.

You might try the Kenworth or the Peterbilt they are both made by Paccar Corp. and very well built. They come stock with air ride and you won't know the 42 is back there. The only draw back would be as a daily driver.

I have a question, what is the GVWR on the truck and trailer? I know in Michigan that if your trailer has a GVWR over 10,000# or if your truck and trailer combined are over 26,000# you need a CDL! Just curious hate to see anyone get in trouble.

Jeep dude, the truck gvwr is 17,500 my boat weight is about 12,500 we are looking at a 31000 tag for it at a cost of 389 dollars no cdl required.

Dusty Times ,

The f-350 pulls the boat pretty well. I have bought a myco trailer and that helped a lot but on long hauls say from Charlotte NC to Jacksonville Fl I feel like I am at my limit and stay pretty tensed up . I have a set of gauges on my truck for the turbo temp , boost gauge and trans. The turbo temp runs a round a 1000 deg while pulling long hauls in the hot summer. Boost is anywhere from 8 to 15 pounds and Transmission is about 200 to 210. This truck is not a dulley which has some benefits. I have looked at some fl70 and fl60 but with this c4500 series it has a bed in which gives me more use out of the truck.
