I'm with Warpaint. If you are going wireless and have any kind of high speed internet go with Linksys.. You just need the pc card and the linksys wireless router. Simple to set up and you will be happy. Just make sure you are close to the router though.

I have a Linksys wireless router too. It was around $75. I have the 802.11 G as compared to 802.11 B. The 802.11 G uses 2.4 MHz signal which will give you a better range. The 802.11 B routers were only around $50. They are slower but you probably won't notice the difference. You will need a wireless card for your computer too. They are around $60.

I have a Wireless Toshiba laptop, as well as an HP wireles printer -5850 in concert with my desk top PC and Linksys router and use AOL broadband.

I have not had any problems since I set up the wireless 3 months ago.

By the way, if anyone wants a great/wild scanner, check out the HP 4670...

How much is the monthly service?

Does it end up being one simple rate or does it charge you by the minute?

And~ When I go wireless I'd probably just get rid of the cable modem right?!?

Our monthly service was $20.00 for the first three months then becomes $40.00 per month.

They are both 2.4mhz. the diff is B is 11mbps and the G is 54mbps. range is the same. Keeping in mind a FAST cable is 3mbps you should be fine with the B.Going this route you need to keep your cable and should be able to use it anwhere in your house.

To go with the Sprint PCS card right now they have unlimited use for $80 a month, but it is only 70-80 with 144kbs per sec. alittle faster than dial up but you can go anywhere..
